Since at least 2009, Israel has been using depleted uranium against Gaza, as evidenced in a 2014 European Union (EU) discussion about how these weapons impact innocent civilians.
According to the European Parliament, there was “enough convincing data” even in 2014 to link Israel to the repeated use of depleted uranium weaponry against the Palestinian people, including in the large-scale massacre that occurred in Gaza in August of that same year.
These chemical weapons are linked to cancers and fetal malformations, including in children exposed while in the womb. The horrific outcome of this has already been seen in Fallujah, which was bombed with depleted uranium by a United States-led international coalition.
As a result of the U.S.-led Fallujah bombing in 2003, which was predicated upon the fictitious notion that there were “weapons of mass destruction” hiding in Iraq, some 52 percent of children born in that area today suffer from bodily deformities.
“The lethal effects of radioactivity caused by explosions and subsequent fires, including cancer of the lungs and pleura, can persist for centuries in the environment and particularly in aquifers,” the EU noted at the time about the horrors of what was discovered.

If it were any other country besides Israel dropping depleted uranium bombs on innocent people, the entire world would be in outrage calling for the perpetrator to be stopped. But, since Israel always has the “antisemitic” card up its sleeve, it apparently gets a free pass.
Almost a full decade ago, the EU was warning that Israel was unleashing “another humanitarian catastrophe in Palestine and in particular, in the Gaza Strip, where thousands of tons of depleted uranium bombs were dropped with the effects that have already been documented.”
Again, this all happened in 2014, and before that in the early 2000s. Israel has maintained a stance of heavy aggression against Gaza since the Jewish state first came back into formation in 1948. Ever since that time, the Palestinian people have been persecuted relentlessly by Israel.
“In view of this situation, what is the Vice-President / High Representative thinking of doing to pressure Israel into assuming its responsibilities for this crime against humanity, and what help can the Vice-President / High Representative offer to the Palestinian authorities to carry out epidemiological monitoring, which also includes all EU citizens who have moved to the territory since then?” the EU asked at the time.
Already in this latest war, Israel has dropped the equivalent of nearly two atomic bombs, if using the size and scale of the atomic bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima as a comparison.
The Hiroshima bombing on Aug. 6, 1945, dropped the equivalent of 15,000 tons of TNT on the Japanese city. So far in Gaza, Israel has dropped the equivalent of 25,000 tons of TNT on the Palestinian territory – and the war seems to have only just begun.
Minus the radiation, at least so far, Israel is basically nuking the Gaza Strip on the world stage as most countries seem to oppose this act of aggression by Israel. Will the international community do anything this time around, or will it just be more of the same?
The official death toll in Gaza has breached 12,000 people, with nearly half of these being children. This is ten times and counting the number of Israelis who died on October 7 in the Hamas attack, for which the Israeli military stood down a full seven hours before responding.
