Christians everywhere are in a tizzy over what they claim is a “betrayal” of the United States against Israel amid the latter’s war on Gaza – but the facts tell a much different story.
The United States seems to be going to great lengths to try to justify what Israel is doing in Gaza, claiming that the Zionist state is not violating any international laws.
Experts the world over argue otherwise, but White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby told the press during a recent heated exchange that Israel is not guilty of committing any war crimes.
“Your – your question presumes, at this very early hour, that it was a deliberate strike, that they knew exactly what they were hitting, that they were hitting aid workers and did it on purpose,” Kirby said to one reporter when questioned about the recent Israel Defense Forces (IDF) missile attack on aid workers from World Central Kitchen.
“And there’s no evidence of that,” Kirby continued, defending Israel for the attack that killed seven aid workers delivering food to starving, war-struck Palestinians.

When asked by a reporter for clarity about whether or not Israel has committed even one international humanitarian law violation in the past six months, Kirby reiterated his belief that Israel is free and clear of having committed any crimes.
“I would also remind you, sir, that we continue to look at incidents as they occur,” Kirby said. “The State Department has a process in place. And to date, as you and I are speaking, they have not found any incidents where the Israelis have violated international humanitarian law.”
“I’m telling you the State Department has looked at incidents in the past and has yet to determine that any of those incidents violate international humanitarian law.”
The next day, Kirby doubled down on his previous statements by reiterating that the State Department under Joe Biden has not identified a single incident in which Israel committed any violation of international humanitarian law.
Responding to Kirby’s claims, legal experts everywhere are saying that it is “complete nonsense” to suggest that Israel is crime-free in its behaviors over the past six months.
“It is both incredible and incredibly cynical for Mr. Kirby to assert that Israel has not violated international law,” commented Queen’s University‘s Ardi Imseis.
“No, Israel is not complying with international law in Gaza,” said Adil Haque, a law professor at Rutgers University.
“Israel has unlawfully impeded humanitarian relief, and there is substantial evidence that it has unlawfully used starvation of civilians as a method of warfare.”
According to Imseis, it is impossible that Washington has been unable to identify even a single incident of international crime committed by Israel in Gaza.
“The public record, including that established through the UN, is clear that Israel has and is continuing to violate all manner of its international legal obligations in the Gaza Strip,” Ismeis said.
Janina Dill, a professor from the University of Oxford‘s Blavatnik School of Government, agrees. She stated that it is simply inconceivable that the U.S. is truly unaware of Israel’s violations of international law in Gaza.
“In short, it is plausible neither that Israel’s operations in Gaza are in full compliance with IHL (international humanitarian law), nor that the U.S. government is unaware of the serious and credible allegations of legal violations,” Dill said.
As of this writing, some 33,000 Palestinians, most of them women and children, have died in Gaza amid Israel’s war on Hamas.
